I was asked answer these creative questions for a book called “A Life Creative” by DMoArtWorlds It is a really insightful exercise. Below is my response, perhaps ponder the questions yourself so you can tap into your own truth about creativity. Enjoy!
What do you think being creative means?
I think “being creative” means being true to yourself. I am a big believer that we are all creative, its just a matter of tapping into it. Allowing it to flow through you.
How do you include creativity in your life?
Many aspects of life include creativity, if not all. Of course being a photographer, taking photographs is a big part of my life where I can express creativity. So is the way I dress, cook, dance, draw, form conversation, relationships…. and many more.
What thoughts do you have as to how your life has influenced your creative imagination, and how your creative imagination has influenced your life?
Life has been colourful & I feel my photographs reflect that. I guess what makes all of our creative expression different is our experiences in life. Our life experiences can effect our thoughts & creative imagination then in turn, our thoughts & creative imagination definitely effect our life experiences. The more I experience in life, the more I am realising people are feeling me, my heart through my work.
What, if any, exercises do you do to get into a creative mode?
Getting inspired can come from many unexpected experiences, however, if I need to drop into a creative mode and Im not quite there, I will meditate for a moment and re-connect with myself, then it naturally arises.
How important do you think creativity is in life?
Life is Creativity, or Creativity is Life, whether you are an artist or not, whether you realise it or not, you can not separate the two.
So have a go …. what is “Being Creative” mean to you?
